Corporate Social Responsibility – CSR

Since its creation, Comercializadora Internacional Uniban S.A. has been a company based on the principles of cooperation and solidarity. The agreement of wills and social spirit that inspired the banana industrialists who founded the company over 40 years ago instilled in it from the beginning a corporate philosophy filled with responsibility towards its workers, shareholders, suppliers, employees, customers and communities.
As a result of this organizational culture, the company carries out its management practices on the basis of principles, policies and values that require from all its members respect for other people, quality processes, ethics, clean production, responsibility towards the environment, and honesty in each and every action.
Today, one of the most significant corporate social responsibility programs for the country's banana industry is represented by C. I. Uniban S.A's Fundación Social. —Fundauniban—. The social management model to improve quality of life that has been developed by the Foundation has enabled the Organization to be more effective, efficient and transparent in the implementation of its programs and projects with the communities and surroundings within its area of influence.
From this point of view, C. I. Uniban S.A. approaches the Corporate Social Responsibility program as the voluntary and explicit commitment of the directors, the banana business community and the workers vis-a-vis the expectations and negotiated actions created together with the communities through Fundauniban to implement projects focused on integrated human development
